The Ministry of Culture is seeking a developer or a funder interested in restoring the Pišece Castle located in the eastern part of Slovenia, and turning it into an exclusive venue for cultural events, and exclusive dining and accommodation experience. Before becoming a visitor attraction, Pišece, a well-preserved Romanesque fort remodeled to a Baroque dwelling, has to be renovated and equipped to suit its new role.
The castle stands on the landscaped grounds with exotic trees and plants, and its floor area is approximately 2030 m2.. There is the original Romanesque tower at the centre surrounded by the later architectural additions and the dwelling wings. There is heavily remodeled Roman chapel standing in the oldest part of the castle – a real architectural gem for Slovenia. Equally valuable is the Roman dwelling tower first remodeled in the middle of the16th century and then in the 19th century it got neo-Gothic elements.
The structural works on the Pišece Castle have been completely and the castle has a new roof, facade and doors and windows. The floor area of 777 m2 has been completely renovated and furnished: there are two reception halls, a cloakroom and washing rooms, as well as accommodation for 40 guests.
The Pišece Castle has all the attributes of a prime hotel facility with fine dining suited for cultural events, conferences and other gatherings capable of satisfying even the most discerning guests.
The estimated value of the investment (renovation of the castle and the restoration of the English gardens complete with the necessary infrastructure without interior decoration) is 2.5 million euros.
The Pešece Castle is well placed to attract visitors from the nearby Croatia or those travelling to and from Croatia. There is beautiful Kozjanski park, as well as a host of historic, cultural and natural sights in the immediate vicinity and some highly popular tourist destinations (a hiking a biking destination Brežice, a vast range of amenities of the Olimia Spa).
