Ljubljana, 12 April (STA) - Flag carrier Adria Airways will soon get competition on the lucrative Ljubljana-Moscow route. The operator of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport confirmed Thursday the arrival of Rusline, a small Russian airline, on 2 July.
Rusline will operate twice-weekly flights between Ljubljana and Moscow's Domodedovo airport with its Canadair CRJ 200 50-seater aircraft, Aerodrom Ljubljana told the STA.
Adria Airways operates daily flights between Ljubljana and Moscow's other main airport Sheremetyevo.
The airport hopes Rusline will carry 4,000-5,000 passengers a year. "Russia is one of the markets in the focus for Aerodrom Ljubljana, as it has great potential."
"The number of passengers from Russia has been increasing steadily...For Slovenia these links are interesting for business as well as tourist travel," Aerodrom Ljubljana said.
