Ljubljana, 15 November (STA) - The Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) will help fund individual appearances of Slovenian companies at fairs abroad. A public call to this effect, as part of which EUR 600,000 will be distributed, was published on Monday.
This is the first time that JAPTI will fund appearances of individual companies at fairs, as until now only joint appearances of groups of companies were funded.
The agency is aware that some companies wanted to take part in very specialised fairs or in countries where it was impossible to form groups, JAPTI director Igor Plestenjak told the press today in presenting the call.
The public call, as part of which the agency wants to provide funds for fair appearances to at least 60 companies, is open until 13 December. The agency will cover up to 60% of the costs of participation at fairs, with a cap of EUR 10,000 per company.
The selection will be based on a combination of criteria, including the importance of the fair, the potential of the market where the fair is being held, the potential for growth in the sector concerned and the outlook of the company.
This year JAPTI has helped fund group appearances at 22 international fairs, involving nearly 200 Slovenian companies. Plestenjak said that surveys showed these companies generated nearly 6,000 new contacts and struck 250 new deals as a result.
