Brnik, 15 April (STA) - The economic crisis severely affected the bottom line of airport operator Aerodrom Ljubljana in 2009. Sales revenue dropped 13% to EUR 33.5m and net profit was nearly halved over a year ago to EUR 6.1m, the company said Thursday.
Sales declined across the board, as passenger numbers dropped 14.3% to 1.43 million and cargo transport by 16.6%. The drop is even more pronounced because of the high benchmark in 2008, when Slovenia presided over the EU and traffic at the Joze Pucnik Airport surged.
This year pre-tax profit (EBITDA) is projected to increase 3.3% from this year's EUR 13.8m, but sales are expected to remain level due to a EUR 1m shortfall that the company expects from the two-week airport closure due to runway repairs.
