Ljubljana, 17 June (STA) - The average net pay in Slovenia dropped by 0.1% in April over March to EUR 993.16, according to data for April released by the Statistics Office on Monday. A 0.6% drop was recorded year-on-year. In the public sector, the average net salary was EUR 1131.82, while it amounted to EUR 916.78 in the private sector.
The average gross pay in April was at EUR 1,516.82, which was 0.2% less than in March and 0.2% down from April 2012.
Between January and April, average pay dropped in most fields. Growth was recorded only in the supply with electricity, gas and steam (by 6.3%), manufacturing (2.3%), mining and quarrying (1.7%) and utility services (0.6%).
By region, an increase in pay was recorded in Gorenjsko (1.1%) and Pomursko (0.1%). The biggest drop was recorded in the Primorsko region (1.7%).
April salaries were paid out for an average of 169 man hours, a 3.7% increase over March. The average gross pay for an hour of work amounted to EUR 8.98.
