Ljubljana, 15 October (STA) - The average monthly pay in Slovenia amounted to EUR 985.55 net in August, which is 0.9% up compared to July and 0.3% down compared to August 2011, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
Average gross pay was at EUR 1,512.95, up 1% over July and down 0.7% year-on-year.
Compared to July, the average monthly pay increased in most activities, most notably in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 3.1%), and manufacturing (by 2.1%).
The pay was down only in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (by 0.3%) and in transportation and storage (by 0.2%).
In August, public sector pay on average decreased by 2.4% year-on-year, while it increased by 0.2% in the private sector. However, average gross pay in the public sector amounted to EUR 1,731.39, while its stood at EUR 1,393.82 in the real sector.
Employees on average worked 176 hours in August, which is 3.5% more than the month before.
