Ljubljana, 15 July (STA) - Slovenian wages averaged EUR 997.13 net in May, which is 0.4% more than April and up 0.1% year-on-year, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
Gross pay, at EUR 1,523.65, dropped 0.8% over the year before while it was 0.5% higher than in April.
In the private sector, the average May wage was up 0.2% over April, while the increase in the public sector was 0.8%.
The highest monthly increases in gross wages were recorded in mining, finance and insurance (1.8% each), and in agriculture, forestry, and fishers (1.6%).
The highest net wages in May were paid in electricity supply (EUR 1,380.17), followed by finance and insurance (EUR 1,368.97) and IT (EUR 1,283.46).
The lowest average monthly net earnings were paid in administrative and support service activities (EUR 692.09).
