Ljubljana, 02 April (STA) - The Austrian BKS Bank posted a pre-tax profit of EUR 4.5m in Slovenia in 2011, as the bank's four offices in the country managed loans worth a total of EUR 525.2m at the end of the year, a 22.5% increase on 2010, BKS Bank said on Monday.
BKS Bank has been present in Slovenia since 1999, but operating as an universal bank since 2010. It recorded a net profit of EUR 3.61 last year. The management is happy with the results, especially praising the development of the deposits segment.
The results of BKS Leasing meanwhile deteriorated slightly last year over the year before. Annual turnover was down from EUR 66.7m to EUR 64.3m, while net profit stood at EUR 700,000.
The entire BKS Bank concern generated a EUR 104.3m profit from regular operations in 2011, a 8.6% improvement on the year before. Pre-tax profit was down 28% to EUR 38.6m. Total assets increased by 3.5% to stand at EUR 6.456bn at the end of the year.
