Ljubljana, 10 July (STA) - Executive director of the Japanese agency for New Energy and Industrial Technology Organisation (NEDO) Hiroshi Kuniyoshi met Tuesday Slovenian ministry officials and representatives of Maribor and Koper municipalities to discuss cooperation between Slovenian and Japanese companies and R&D institutions.
Talks focused on the potential for joint projects between Japanese and Slovenian companies, Slovenia's investment and tourism promotion agency SPIRIT said in a press release today.
The Japanese delegation presented to officials from the Ministry for Economic Development and Technology and Ministry for Infrastructure and Spatial Planing the results of a study being conducted by Hitachi and the Hitachi Research Institute.
The study is in its final phase and its results will be the basis for Hitachi's decision on whether it will participate in a joint Japanese-Slovenian demo project in the field of smart communities.
Representatives of the two agencies will, in cooperation with relevant ministries, identify a number of potential projects and agree which to implement in Slovenia, SPIRIT added.
