Business Reps Happy with Visit to Oman

Ljubljana, 22 February (STA) - Members of the business Slovenian delegation that visited Oman 17-20 February are content with the visit as they acquired new business contacts or partners in the country, which can serve as an access point for the Middle and Far East, according to the Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI).

JAPTI, which organised this first official business visit to Oman, stressed in a press release on Wednesday that there was still much room for economic cooperation between Slovenia and Oman.

As part of the visit, representatives of eight Slovenian companies met executives of 25 Omani companies at a business conference and in bilateral meetings, where the hosts received a presentation of the Slovenian business environment and opportunities for cooperation.

Bilateral trade is currently very modest, but JAPTI sees much room for boosting cooperation, especially in construction, health care, food industry and agriculture, tourism, petrochemicals industry, car tire production, transfer of technologies, and joint ventures on third markets.
