Ljubljana, 24 May (STA) - Business sentiment in Slovenia increased for the third consecutive month in May. The seasonally-adjusted indicator was up 3 percentage points over the month before and 17 points higher compared to the year before, the Statistics Office said on Monday.
The confidence indicator in manufacturing went up by 1 percentage point compared to April and 26 points year-on-year. Expectations for the next three months are favourable, the office added.
In retail, the confidence indicator was flat, but improved by 25 percentage points compared to May 2009. The most relevant indicators decreased at the monthly level, except for the expected orders and expected business situation.
The seasonally-adjusted indicator in construction meanwhile increased by 5 percentage points and 11 points year-on-year. Expectations for the next three months are favourable, expect for the employment indicator.
The confidence indicator in services was up 3 percentage points compared to April and 18 percentage points in the year-on-year comparison. The most relevant indicators decreased at the monthly level, except for the business situation and expected sales prices indicators.
