Ljubljana, 06 September (STA) - A total of 3,466 of new cars and vans were registered in Slovenia in August, which is down almost 25% year-on-year, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce (TZS) said on Thursday, adding that Volkswagen sold the most cars, while Peugeot sold the most vans.
At the annual level, the number of newly registered cars dropped 26.33% to 3,072 and the number of newly registered vans was down by 11.66% to 394, the TZS data shows.
Volkswagen held a 14.16% market share in August, selling 435 cars. It was followed by Renault (11.69%), Peugeot (8.85%), Opel (7.55%) and Citroen (7.36%).
Peugeot was the most successful on the van market with a 32.23% market share, followed by Volkswagen (15.23%) and Renault (14.47%).
In the first eight months of 2012, a total of 39,757 new cars and vans was registered in Slovenia, down almost 14% compared to the same period in 2011.
