Ljubljana, 08 August (STA) - Fresh data from the Chamber of Commerce (TZS) show a revival in the Slovenian car market. The number of newly registered cars was up 4.7% in July on the same month a year ago.
A total of 4,817 new cars and vans were registered in Slovenia in July and 36,359 since the start of the year, up 0.2% on the first seven months a year ago.
Sales of new cars increased by 3% year-on-year to 4,229, and the number of newly registered vans rose by 18.6% year-on-year to 588 in July.
The top selling car make was Renault (657) and its Clio the top-selling model (317).
The second most-popular manufacturer was Volkswagen (649), followed by Peugeot (336), Kia (335), Škoda (318) and Opel (310).
Peugeot ranked first in the van category (189).
