Central Bank Upgrades Forecast to 0.6% Growth for 2014

Ljubljana, 08 April (STA) - Banka Slovenije has upgraded its forecast for the Slovenian economy for this year to 0.6% growth from 0.7% contraction projected in the autumn.

Growth is projected to accelerate to 1.4% in 2015 and 1.7% the year later, revised figures released by the central bank on Tuesday show. The projection for 2015 has been left unchanged.

The predictions are even more upbeat than those of the government's economic think-tank IMAD, which last month upgraded its forecast for the year to 0.5% growth, to be followed by an increase of 0.7% in 2015 and 1.3% in 2016.
