Ljubljana, 13 December (STA) - The owner of Duol, the Brezovica near Ljubljana-based air dome maker, has received a takeover offer from a Chinese company whose name he has not disclosed, the news web portal Siol reports.
"The offer is very interesting and we are seriously considering it," Dušan Olaj, the sole owner of Duol, is quoted as saying by Siol. He would not disclose the company's name, but he did say it was from the same industry.
Talks on the potential takeover have already started with Olaj reckoning that everything should be clear by the end of the year. The prospective buyer is currently carrying out due diligence.
More than the acquisition price, the issue at stake at the moment is the question of Duol's patents and patent rights and their sales and marketing, Olaj told the portal.
Duol manufactures innovative inflatable structures for various purposes such as sports, storage and events, as well as metal and wooden constructions for domes.
Duol posted EUR 7.36 million in net sales revenue last year, up 3.4% on the year before, while net profit was halved to EUR 67,000, show the company's financial statements, available on the website of the Agency for Public Legal Records (AJPES).
The business newspaper Finance has recently reported that Duol has signed a EUR 300,000 deal to supply two inflatable green houses to a major US medicinal marijuana producer.
