City to Get New Premises in Public-Private Partnership

Ljubljana, 10 April (STA) - Retailer Spar and the City of Ljubljana signed on Thursday a EUR 7.5m public-private partnership agreement to build a commercial and municipal building in the borough of Zalog in the east of the city.

Spar will invest EUR 4.5m in the project while the city has provided the land and EUR 150,000, Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković told the press.

The building, stretching over nearly 6,000 m2, will house a Spar store on the ground floor and a library, music school, multi-purpose hall and offices for local associations on the first floor.

Construction is due to begin in summer and the building is slated for completion in 2015, according to Spar Slovenija director Igor Mervič.
