Ljubljana, 09 May (STA) - Iran is a country offering several business opportunities, despite international sanctions, president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce Mohamed Nahavandian told a business conference in Ljubljana on Thursday. Nahavandian stressed that $the time was right$ to advance business cooperation with Iran.
"This is an economy to be reckoned with. Iran is a growing economy," Nahavandian said and added that international sanctions were an unhelpful "political construct" and would sooner or later be lifted.
This will give an advantage to companies which will have already established a presence on the Iranian market, Nahavandian was quoted as saying in a press release from the organizer of the event, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS).
The GZS highlighted the opportunities in energy, automotive industry, chemistry as well as nano- and biotechnology.
Nahavandian added that the Iranian chamber would do everything in its power to simplify business cooperation and provide support to Slovenian businesses interested in working together with Iran.
