Consumer Survey: Fructal Top Slovenian Brand

Ljubljana, 25 January (STA) - Fruit drinks maker Fructal has topped a list of most popular brands Slovenian obtained by the Si.Brand consumer association in a six-month survey of consumers in Slovenia. Fructal is followed by toilet tissue maker Paloma and soft-drinks maker Radenska.

The top ten also include Gorenjka chocolate, Kras meat products, 1001cvet teas, Oaza bottled water, Jub wall paints, and the brands of sports equipment maker Elan and rail operator Slovenske zeleznice.

Fructal's Drago Kavsek expressed delight with Fructal winning the Si.brand 2011 title among a line-up of such successful brands. All brands that made it onto the Si.Brand TOP50 list have the right to use the Si.Brand 2011 logo for their products.

The survey, which took place between 15 June and 23 December 2010, measured the popularity of Slovenian corporate, individual and service-providing brands that are registered with the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office or another international organisation.

It included 1,056 respondents aged between 15 and 65. The participants answered questions related to their knowledge about the brands, as well as popularity, likability and functionality of the brands.

Si.Brand decided to launch the project after realizing that the two most important international brand surveys - Superbrands and Trusted Brands - were not based on the opinion of the average consumer, but by very restricted groups: a selected jury and the readers of Reader's Digest.

Si.Brand will continue the project this year, introducing foreign brands like Coca Cola, Adidas, Facebook, Samsung and Nokia. The survey is to include a total of 65 brands.
