Corporate ICT Spending Exceeded EUR 644M in 2009

Ljubljana, 31 January (STA) - Companies in Slovenia with ten or more employees spent EUR 644.4m (excluding VAT) on purchases of information and communication technologies (ICT) in 2009, accounting for 1.35% of their overall purchasing, according to the Statistics Office.

ICT spending is highest in large companies (1.48% of purchasing). Mid-sized companies allocated 1.39% and small companies 1.11% of total purchasing for ICT.

Computer hardware accounted for a quarter of the outlay, followed by services (23%), software (18%) and communications equipment such as phones and alarms (14%).
