Ljubljana, 27 August (STA) - The DBS bank made EUR 2.66m in operating profit in the first half of the year, after reporting EUR 2.61m in operating loss for the same period last year. The bank said on Friday it had trumped half-year plans by 122% and those for the whole year by 11%.
According to the semi-annual report posted on the website of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, the bank's total assets were up by 11% in the first six months to EUR 1.01bn.
Net expenses due to impairments of loans amounted to EUR 1.82m, of which EUR 1.6m was loans to legal entities. The writedowns were only half of the figure in the first half of last year.
The DBS group, which also includes DBS Leasing, made an operating profit of EUR 2.72m compared to a loss of EUR 2.74m in the first half of 2009.
