Ljubljana, 07 May (STA) - The Centre of Energy Solutions (CER), a one-stop shop set up by several Slovenian companies to offer comprehensive products and services designed to improve energy efficiency of buildings, will open its offshoot in Croatia's capital at the end of year.
The centre opening in Zagreb will offer products and services from over 20 companies, the CEO of Jelovica, a manufacturer of energy-efficient houses, windows and doors, told a news conference in Ljubljana on Tuesday.
"We see CER as one of the potential promoters of Slovenian exports in the field of high value added, which means comprehensive and complex solutions," Jelovica chairman Gregor Benčina added.
The launch of the centre in Zagreb is also considered to be one of important steps to advance economic cooperation between the countries following Croatia's accession to the EU.
The centre, which opened at Ljubljana's biggest shopping district BTC in October last year in a bid to offer consumers energy solutions in one place, also has plans to expand beyond South East Europe.
Apart from Jelovica, CER brings together energy company Petrol, Nord, Knauf Insulation, green energy solutions provider Zelene energije, and since recently wall coatings manufacturer Jub.
With the help of the Eco Fund, CER will now upgrade is business model with a consulting and educational platform as part of which it will organise s series of events to raise public awareness about energy efficient construction.
CER also helps consumers in finding various sources of financing for energy renewal of buildings and has been in talks with the development bank SID Banka and various funds to secure financing at favourable terms.
