Ljubljana, 08 October (STA) - Slovenia exported EUR 1.3bn worth of goods in August, up 22.5% year-on-year, while imports rose by 13.2% to EUR 1.4bn. The trade gap amounted to EUR 120m in August, while the export-import ratio stood at 91.5%, the preliminary data from the Statistics Office show.
Exports amounted to EUR 11.7bn in the first eight months of 2010, up 13.3% compared to the same period of 2009. Imports grew 12.5% in the first eight months to EUR 12.4bn, and the export-import ratio stood at 94.8%.
Slovenia exported EUR 865m worth of goods to other EU member states in August, or 67% of the country's total exports. Imports from the EU market amounted to EUR 1.13bn, representing 79.7% of all imports.
Slovenia exported EUR 426.3m to countries that are not EU members and imported goods worth EUR 285.9m from there in August.
