Gorenje, Mercator Rub Shoulders with Renault, Nokia in Brands Survey

Ljubljana, 22 June (STA) - Renault cars and Nokia handsets are in the company of Gorenje household appliances and Mercator shopping centres on a list of brands that Slovenian consumers trust the most according to the latest brand survey.

The Trusted Brand 2010 survey, conducted by pollster Mediana for publisher Reader's Digest, selected winners in 40 product categories.

Conducted in 16 European countries, it enables inter-cultural comparison as 20 groups of products are the same for all the participating countries, while the rest are selected locally.

The results produced a mixed list of top Slovenian brands and some of the biggest global names.

Global brands on the list include Canon cameras, HP computers, Mastercard credit cards and Nestle cereals.

Slovenian brands dominate services, among them mobile provider Mobitel, insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav, the bank NLB, TV station POP TV and radio station Val 202.

The picture is mixed in consumer goods.

The list includes Head and Shoulders hair care products, Nivea cosmetics, Ariel washing powder and Max Factor make up.

But Slovenian brands are also popular, among them Frutek baby food, Fructal juices, Zala bottled water, Barcaffe coffee and Lasko beer.

The awards will be conferred in Ljubljana on 30 September.
