Ljubljana, 22 March (STA) - Water heater maker Gorenje Tiki, a subsidiary of home-appliance manufacturer Gorenje, will start moving a part of its production to a plant in Stara Pazova, Serbia this month.
The company will not extend some fixed-term contracts with employees in Ljubljana and it will scale down the hiring of temps, Gorenje wrote in a press release on Monday.
The company will however hire an additional 50 shop floor workers in its Stara Pazova (N Serbia) plant, which was built three years ago.
The Stara Pazova plant will thus take over the production of 5-, 10- and 15-litre pressurised and unpressurised water heaters.
The Ljubljana plant will continue to produce water heaters of large and middle capacity and sanitary heat pumps.
