Ljubljana, 21 January (STA) - The government approved on Thursday the financial and project plan of Slovenia's Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) for 2010 and 2011. This year the agency will get EUR 42.6m to support international presence of Slovenian companies and to attract foreign investors.
Over EUR 40m will go into projects including Slovenia's representatives abroad, while the remaining EUR 2.5m will fund the agency's operations, Economy Minister Matej Lahovnik told the press after the session.
The funds will also support micro and small companies as well as boost entrepreneurship. JAPTI will encourage innovation and training for entrepreneurs, research and development, and reduce administrative barriers for starting a company.
The objective is also to improve the transition of expertise from universities into the economy and to encourage researchers to work in the economy.
