Ljubljana, 07 October (STA) - The head of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) has criticised the authorities for failing to provide a clear stance on Chinese investments in Slovenia.
Chinese business delegations are coming to Slovenia almost every day but they are not getting a clear answer as to whether their investments are welcome, Samo Hribar Milič told a debate on doing business with China.
Slovenia has to make it clear that Chinese investments are welcome, added Zvezdan Ranđelović, a businessman and Slovenia's national representative at the EU Chamber of Commerce in China.
China is currently making heavy infrastructure investments in Slovenia's neighbouring countries; if Slovenia does not take a clear position, infrastructure projects could bypass it, he said.
Hribar Milič and Ranđelović made the remarks at a GZS-sponsored meeting on European business ventures in China held in Ljubljana on Tuesday.
