Ljubljana, 22 December (STA) - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) launched on Thursday a catalogue presenting the most distinguished achievements of Slovenian civil engineering in recent years. The catalogue's main goal is to promote the Slovenian construction industry abroad.
The catalogue will boost the "made in Slovenia" trade mark in the field of civil engineering on foreign markets and raise awareness of the importance of the construction sector for Slovenia, GZS boss Samo Hribar Milic said at the presentation in Ljubljana.
"Slovenia needs construction, because it provides jobs and it is directly connected with more than ten industries, also in the field of services, and because it has a big export potential," he added.
According to the GZS, promotion of Slovenian services, products and achievements is very important. "I wish that our diplomatic and economic representatives abroad use this catalogue in their work," Hribar Milic stressed.
The head of the GZS's competitiveness centre, Ales Cantarutti, added that Slovenian builders would have to seize the opportunities on foreign markets, one of them being the construction of the Moscow ring road.
Apart from 4,000 printed copies, the catalogue was also published in a digital edition. It has been put together in cooperation with the Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) and the Economy Ministry.
