Ljubljana, 25 October (STA) - Dewestft, a small company from Trbovlje, was declared winner of this year's Golden Gazelle Award for fast-growing companies by publisher Dnevnik on Thursday. Dewesoft has more than tripled its revenue in the past five years and doubled its added value, reaching an enviable EUR 95,000 per employee in 2011, the jury said.
Dewesoft comprises of a small group of experts in IT, electronics and mechanical engineering providing software and hardware solutions for industry, transport, car industry, space technology, energy and mechanical engineering.
In the past two years, Dewesoft has also started producing their own measuring devices. The export-oriented company is a partner of the biggest names in a number of industries, including NASA and BMW.
The Silver Gazelle went into the hands of Murska Sobota-based GMT, a car spare-parts and equipment retailer, while the Bronze Gazelle went to Lotrič, a metrology equipment maker.
Economic Development and Technology Minister Radovan Žerjav congratulated the awarded companies, saying in his address that he would strive to help entrepreneurship in the future "be it with the simple things, like obtaining permits, or opening doors into the world."
