Households' Disposable Income Contracting

Ljubljana, 30 September (STA) - Households' disposable income dropped 2.7% in the second quarter of 2013, the sixth consecutive quarter of contraction, as households scaled back on spending as well as savings, the Statistics Office said on Monday.

The final consumption expenditure of households dropped 1.4%, whereas gross savings were 0.4% lower. Nevertheless, the savings rate (savings as a share of disposable income) inched 0.1 percentage points higher to 12.1%.
