Ljubljana, 09 April (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia climbed back up in February by 6% compared to January and grew by almost 2% year-on-year. In the first two months of 2010, the output fell by almost 4%, according to preliminary data of the Statistics Office released on Friday.
Industrial output in February compared to January was only down in mining and quarrying (almost -2%), while it increased by around 6% in manufacturing and in electricity, gas and steam supply.
Compared to February 2009, it was lower in mining and quarrying (almost -17%) and in electricity, gas and steam supply (almost -2%), but was higher in manufacturing by over 2%.
The output grew for intermediate goods by 4% in February compared to the month before and by almost 2% for consumer goods, while it lost 1% for investment products.
Moreover, the output of investment products also fell by 3% year-on-year, while it increased by over 4% for intermediate goods and by almost 1% for consumer goods.
Inventories were meanwhile slightly over 1% lower than a month before and almost 16% lower year-on-year.
