Ljubljana, 10 September (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output contracted by 0.1% in July compared to the month before but remained flat year-on-year. A 1.2% decline at the annual level was recorded in the first seven months, data from the Statistics Office shows.
Only the mining and quarrying sector reported monthly growth in July, at a rate of nearly 14%. Manufacturing saw a drop of 0.5% and electricity, gas and steam supply recorded a fall of 1%.
Meanwhile, only manufacturing output decreased year-on-year, i.e. by 0.3%, while the other sectors reported growth.
The output of intermediate goods and capital goods increased by 0.5% and by 0.6%, respectively, in July from the month before, while a 0.5% drop was registered in the output of consumer goods.
Industrial sales revenues fell by 0.8% at the monthly level, but rose by 1% at the annual level in July.
The value of stocks of industrial products was down 0.8% on June and fell by almost 6% year-on-year.
