Ljubljana, 09 August (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia went up 1% in June over May, while a 1.5% drop was recorded on the yearly level, according to data released by the Statistics Office on Friday.
Industrial output increased month-on-month in June in electricity, gas and steam supply (6.6%) and in manufacturing (1.1%). A 2.8% drop was recorded in mining and quarrying.
Year-on-year, an slight increase of 0.7% was recorded only in electricity, gas and steam supply, while a drop was recorded in all other sectors: manufacturing was down 1.4% and mining and quarrying dropped 2.2%.
In the first half of the year, output in manufacturing contracted by 1.8% compared to the same period last year and by 0.5% in mining and quarrying. It rose 4.4% in supply of electricity, gas and steam.
Industrial revenue recorded an increase of 2.3% in June over May. A 15.4% hike was seen in mining and quarrying. However, on the yearly level revenue was down 1.1%.
In the first half of the year, revenue in industry decreased 2.3% compared to the first half of 2012, it dropped 3.4% in mining and quarrying and 2.3% in manufacturing.
