Ljubljana, 03 October (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia amounted to some EUR 16.4bn in 2009, which was an 18% drop year-on-year. Two thirds of industrial products and services were sold abroad, according to data from the Statistics Office.
Industrial output increased in only two sectors in 2009: in the pharmaceutical industry and the vehicle and vessel industry, the Statistics Office said.
The most significant drop was recorded in apparel making and manufacture of machines.
The main part of the total EUR 16.4bn in sales revenues was generated by motor vehicles and trailer industry, which accounted for 14% of the figure. Over 10% was generated by the sale of electric devices and some 9% by metal products.
