Ljubljana, 25 March (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output was down 3.5% in January compared to the month before and up 12.7% year-on-year, the Statistics Office said on Friday.
Industrial output decreased in January on the monthly level in all three major activities - in mining and quarrying by almost 22%, in manufacturing by almost 3% and in energy, gas and steam supply by almost 5%.
Year-on-year, it was up in manufacturing (by 13.6%) and in energy, gas and steam supply (by 6.4%), but down in quarrying and mining (by 1.2%).
In January the industrial output increased only in one of the industrial groupings, consumer groups industries (by 1%), while it was down in intermediate goods industries (by almost 3%) and in capital goods industries (by almost 2%).
However, year-on-year, the output increased in all three groupings - by 13.5% in intermediate goods, by 12.8% in capital goods and by 11.1% in consumer goods.
Inventories remained level compared to December 2010 but decreased by 2.4% on a yearly level.
