Ljubljana, 10 November (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output was down by 0.6% in September on the monthly level, which is primarily a consequence of a 1.1% drop in output in manufacturing, the Statistics Office reported on Monday.
On the other hand, industrial activity in electricity, gas and steam supply was up by 4.2% compared to August, and it increased by 26.5% in mining and quarrying.
In September, overall sales revenues in industry were up by 0.2% on the monthly level. In manufacturing, sales revenues remained level, while they dropped by 5.6% in mining and quarrying.
Sales revenues on the annual level were also up, by 4.8%. In the production of investment products revenues were up by 12.2%, in the production of intermediate goods by 4.8%, while they were down by 1.8% in the production of consumer goods.
Compared to August, the value of inventories in September was down by 0.3%, including a 0.4% drop in manufacturing and a 6.6% drop in mining and quarrying. On the annual level, inventories were down by 0.1%.
Industrial output in the first nine months of the year was up by 3.6% year-on-year. It was up the most in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 8.8%).
