Ljubljana, 10 May (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output gained 0.8% in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year, the Statistics Office said on Friday. In March, industrial output dropped on both yearly and monthly levels: it lost 2.9% compared to February and 3.3% over March 2012.
Industrial output in electricity, gas and steam supply in March was 2.9% higher than in February. In mining and quarrying, it was up 1.1%, while in manufacturing it dropped 3.7% on monthly level.
Year-on-year, industrial output in mining and quarrying was 24.4% higher in March 2013. In electricity, gas and steam supply, a 12.2% increase was recorded on annual level, while a 5.8% drop was recorded in manufacturing.
The value of products in stock was 0.1% lower in March than in February and 2.2% lower than in March 2012. In the first three months of the year, value of items in stock was 1.8% lower than in the same period last year.
