Ljubljana, 10 February (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia increased by 4% in December 2010 compared to the month before, and was up 11% year-on-year. In the entire 2010, industrial output was meanwhile up 6% compared to 2009, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.
Industrial output increased in December on the monthly level in all three major activities - in mining and quarrying by almost 9%, in manufacturing by 3% and in energy, gas and steam supply also by 3%.
Year-on-year, the output in December was also up, by 42% in mining and quarrying, by 11% in manufacturing, and by 10% in energy, gas and steam supply.
In comparison to 2009, industrial output increased in 2010 by almost 13% in mining and quarrying, by 7% in manufacturing, and by 1% in energy, gas and steam supply.
Industrial output increased in December in all three industrial groupings also: in capital goods industries by 6%, in intermediate goods industries by 2%, and in consumer goods industries by 0.3%.
Inventories in December were meanwhile down by 0.3% compared to November, and by more than 2% compared to December 2009. Compared to 2009, inventories in 2010 were down by 10%.
