Ljubljana, 09 July (STA) - Industrial output in Slovenia grew by 4.5% in May over April and was 11.8% higher year-on-year. In the first five months, industrial output grew by 3.7% in an annual comparison, the National Statistics Office said on Friday.
Industrial output was higher in all three categories in May over a month earlier: 5.8% in mining and quarrying, 4.5% in manufacturing and 1.1% in electricity, gas and steam supply.
At the annual level, the only drop in May was registered in electricity, gas and steam supply (3.1%). The manufacturing sector meanwhile expanded by 12.8% mining and quarrying by 20.9%.
Electricity, gas and steam supply contracted by 3.9% in the first five months of the year, where as mining and quarrying and manufacturing expanded by 1.2% and 4.7% respectively.
