Ljubljana, 10 December (STA) - Slovenia's industrial output in October was down almost 1% over September but up almost 9% year-on-year. In the first ten months of the year, input increased by almost 7% compared to the same period last year, the Statistics Office said on Friday.
On the monthly level, the figures were down in all sectors, most notably in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 4%).
Industrial production increased the most in mining (by almost 25%), manufacturing (by over 8%) and in electricity, gas and steam supply (4%).
In the first ten months of the year, production rose in all sectors year-on-year. The biggest growth was recorded in mining (12%) and manufacturing (almost 7%).
Broken down by main industrial groupings, industrial production increased at the monthly level in intermediate goods industries (almost 2%) and in capital goods industries (by almost 3%), while it dropped in consumer goods industries (0.2%).
Year-on-year, the figures were up in all main groupings.
Inventories were 0.5% higher than in September but 4% lower than in the same month last year.
