Industrial Revenues Down, Orders Up in January

Ljubljana, 06 April (STA) - Industrial revenues dropped 1% in January compared to a month before, but they were up 11.7% year-on-year. The value of new orders meanwhile jumped 3.2% on the previous month and 17.6% over the year before, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.

Revenues decreased in manufacturing (-0.5%) as well as in mining and quarrying (-27%) at the monthly level, but they were up 12% and 7% respectively year-on-year.

Broken down by industrial groupings, revenues increased by 1% over the month before in consumer goods industries and dropped in intermediate goods industries and capital goods industries, by 0.5% and 0.2% respectively.

At the annual level revenues increased in all three main groupings: in intermediate goods industries by almost 14%, in capital goods industries by 12% and in consumer goods industries by almost 7%.

The value of new orders rose across the board over December, with domestic orders up 4% and foreign orders rising by 2%. Year-on-year domestic orders rose 13% and foreign orders by nearly 19%.
