Insurer Triglav Reports 12% Higher Q1 Group Profit

Ljubljana, 22 May (STA) - Triglav Group saw its net profit increase by 12% year-on-year to EUR 25.6m in the first quarter of the year, collecting 1% less in gross written premiums, according to a filing posted by Slovenia's leading insurer on Thursday.

The group charged EUR 256.1m in gross written premiums from insurance and co-insurance contracts in the first quarter of the year, according to a business performance assessment, which Zavarovalnica Triglav will follow up with more detailed performance data on Friday.

The company plans a group net profit of EUR 65.6m for the year on EUR 902.1m in consolidated gross written premiums.

Last year profit fell by 5% to EUR 69.9m; the core company Zavarovalnica Triglav saw its net profit drop by 4% to EUR 48.3m.
