Portoroz, 22 April (STA) - The 15th international Internautica boat show will take place in the coastal resort of Portoroz between 11 and 16 May, and will besides boats and nautical equipment feature a series of other events, regattas and panels.
The organisers are expecting the boat show to match the numbers from the last year, when Internautica featured about 200 exhibitors and saw 18,000 visitors, the fair's executive director Marjan Matevljic told the press on Thursday.
According to him, the show sponsored by Prime Minister Borut Pahor will feature all major exhibitors from the nautical industry from Slovenia and foreign brands which had already been hosted at Internautica.
If everything goes according to plans, Internautica will soon be hosting the biggest producers from India, China and Thailand, which are emerging players in the nautical industry, added the director of the Portoroz Marina, Marjan Boznik.
He expressed hope that the marina will be expanded in the coming years so to be able to welcome larger yachts. This would be also good for Internautica, which would be able to display 200-feet boats, Boznik added.
Organisers will award best sailing and motor boats and best exhibition area and select the top nautical project of the year.
The accompanying events will feature an exhibition of vintage boats, the Internautica Cup regatta, exhibitions of photographs and paintings and panels on nautical tourism and the environment.
The boat division of the Slovenian sports equipment manufacturer Elan will unveil its Elan 350 and Impression 444 boats.
