Šempeter pri Gorici, 16 October (STA) - Intra lighting, a leading Slovenian company in the field of smart lighting, celebrated its 30th anniversary at the start of October. The Šempeter-based company plans a major expansion for the coming year and also wants to join all of its production units at a single location.
The company, which has received a number of awards both for its business achievements and for its designs - for instance the Good design Chicago, Good design Tokyo and the Red Dot awards - currently has a 350-strong workforce and an annual turnover of roughly EUR 34 million.
Marino Furlan, who founded the company together with his wife Marjeta Furlan in 1989, told the STA that the full revamping of the company's business model after the last crisis had been crucial for the success in recent years.
It included the launch of intensive cooperation with acclaimed light designers and architects from around the world.
Intra lighting is currently in the process of expanding production, wishing to do so at its central location.
"I find it important that we are joined at a single location, so that there are no unnecessary time losses and that decisions can be made fast," Furlan said, explaining the equipment for the new hall had already been bought.
