Ljubljana, 28 December (STA) - The Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) has conducted a sectoral analysis of the Slovenian economy and its competitive advantages, establishing that Slovenia is an interesting location for direct foreign investment and offers many investment opportunities.
The sectoral analysis has shown that setting up a business in Slovenia opens doors to the biggest market in the world, as Slovenia is well connected to economically important European regions.
Furthermore, the Slovenian economy is highly export-oriented and the information society is developing fast, while Slovenia ensures high quality of life and a high level of security for investors, JAPTI said in a press release on Monday.
Slovenia can be a location for production for regional markets or the global market, for test production and marketing, a springboard for SE Europe, and a good base for locating regional centres in services, distribution and logistics.
Moreover, the country is in the final phase of privatisation and ownership consolidation, and offers a chance to expand the service sector and a favourable environment for technologically advanced projects and infrastructure projects.
The analysis further establishes that foreign investors are most interested in Slovenia for production of food and beverages, of chemicals and chemical products or pharmaceutical ingredients, of rubber and plastic products, of metalware and home appliances and electronic devices.
