Laško, 22 August (STA) - The group around brewer Pivovarna Laško generated EUR 17.2m in operating profit in the first six months of 2012, which is a 12% year-on-year improvement. Net revenues were up by 2.4% to EUR 113m, says a report issued by the company on Wednesday.
Correcting the results unveiled on Tuesday by Laško chief supervisor Vladimir Malenković, who was not referring to the entire group but only to the beverage segment, the report shows EUR 27.3m in earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the group.
The beverage segment's EBITDA stood at EUR 23.4m, while operating profit was up EUR 0.2m year-on-year to EUR 15m. Revenues stood at EUR 106m, a drop of 3%.
The core company meanwhile made EUR 4.4m in operating profit, while net revenues stood at EUR 43m, reaching 44.3% of the company's plans for this year. EBITDA amounted to EUR 6.8m.
The brewer incurred EUR 8m in net loss due to EUR 11m in financial expenses (EUR 7m worth of interest and EUR 3.7m in impairments), the chief supervisor added on Tuesday.
