Ljubljana, 28 August (STA) - The Slovenian Association of Small Shareholders (VZMD) has announced the preliminary programme for a high-profile meeting of investors, which it is to host between 19 and 23 September. More than 100 representatives of investors and shareholders are expected at what will be the world's largest international meeting of this sort.
The event will be run under the title Investors' Week, as part of which the VZMD will also host the International Investors' Conference on Financial Education and the Investo Expo fair.
The fair, held at the Cankarjev dom congress centre, will feature representatives from Slovenia, SE Europe as well as other regions.
The opening ceremony will be addressed by Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič and Constitutional Court President Ernest Petrič, while other domestic and foreign officials will also be in attendance.
Participants will include the highest representatives of national shareholders' and investors' associations, which comprise more than 4 million of investors in Europe alone.
The VZMD is organising the event with the support of the European Commission and in cooperation with the World Federation of Investors, Euroshareholders and the European Federation of Financial Services Users.
This will be the first time that these organisations and its members will meet in the same place.
