Ljubljana, 15 May (STA) - Slovenian wages averaged EUR 993.70 net in March, an increase of 1.1% over February, but down 0.2% year-on-year on the back of a drop in the public sector, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
Public sector pay was down 0.7% to EUR 1,130.01 net, while private sector wages averaged EUR 918.60, up 0.2% over the year before.
Gross pay, at EUR 1,502.08, dropped 1% over the year before even as it was 1.5% higher than in February.
The highest monthly increases in gross wages were recorded in electricity supply (9.4%), agriculture (8.7%) and IT (6.3%).
In the sector of public administration, defence and social security, meanwhile, gross pay was down 0.5%.
