Ljubljana, 18 March (STA) - Slovenia's leading retailer Mercator saw its share on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange surge by 10.97% on Friday, which was enough to boost the SBI TOP blue chip index by a healthy 2.48% in the otherwise negative week on the stock market.
Mercator was up to EUR 180 on deals worth EUR 723,760 and led the winners among SBI TOP names which also featured drug maker Krka (+2.33% to EUR 61) and household appliance maker Gorenje (+0.42% to EUR 227.41).
Krka was the most traded item with EUR 2.24m in deals, while total deals today amounted to EUR 3.86m.
Other SBI TOP issues finished in the red, with telco Telekom Slovenije losing 3.06% to EUR 79, energy company Petrol shedding 1.95% to EUR 226 and the NKBM bank edging 0.31% lower to EUR 9.80.
Outside of the blue chip index, logistics company Intereuropa gained 2.99% to EUR 3.10, while port operator Luka Koper was flat at EUR 13.20.
