Ljubljana, 16 April (STA) - The US fast food chain KFC, known for its fried chicken, is coming to Slovenia, while Subway is returning after its first fast food restaurant was closed in Slovenia years ago.
Based in Kentucky, US, the KFC is already looking for staff on the Slovenian web portal mojedelo.com.
The world's second biggest fast food chain after McDonald's, the KFC has more than 18,000 restaurants in 120 countries.
Subway, which closed its only restaurant in Ljubljana in 2007, is also returning to the capital. Its first fast food restaurant should open in the next months.
The company has told the STA that all its vegetables will be bought from local suppliers while the rest of the products will be imported from Germany.
Founded in 1965, Subway has 39,100 restaurants in 101 countries in which 2,800 salads and sandwiches are served every minute.
McDonald's opened its first restaurant in Slovenia in 1993, but was not the first international fast food chain to start business in Slovenia.
Dairy Queen opened before the Golden Arches, but called it quits in the late 1990s.
