New Car Sales Continue Spurt

Ljubljana, 05 December (STA) - New car and van sales in Slovenia continued a positive year-on-year trend in November, data of the Statistics Office show. A total of 4,648 new cars and vans were registered in November, which is 8.34% more than in the same month last year.

The first eleven months of 2013 saw a 4.76% spike in new vehicle sales over the same period last year, as 54,493 cars and vans were sold, despite a slump in sales in the first half of the year.

The number of newly registered cars rose by 5.71% year-on-year in November to 3,926, while the number of vans surged by 25.35% to 722.

Renault was the most popular brand both for cars (703 new cars sold) and vans (184), followed by Volkswagen for cars (591) and by Peugeot for vans (159).

In the first eleven months of the year, car sales grew 4.59% year-on-year to 48,279 cars and the sales of vans was 6.06% higher, with 6,214 new vans were sold.
